Position Overview
We seek a dedicated Grant Writer to join our mission-driven team. This role is crucial in identifying, researching, and securing grant funding to expand our community impact. The ideal candidate will combine strong writing skills with a passion for social change.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant Research & Strategy
- Identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
- Develop comprehensive funding strategies aligned with our mission
- Research and analyze potential funders’ priorities and requirements
- Build and maintain relationships with funding partners
- Proposal Development
- Write compelling, well-researched grant proposals
- Create detailed project budgets and narratives
- Ensure proposals meet all submission requirements and deadlines
- Collaborate with program staff to gather impact data and success stories
- Grant Management
- Track application deadlines and reporting requirements
- Maintain detailed records of submissions and awards
- Prepare grant reports and track outcomes
- Monitor grant compliance and deliverables
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Strong research abilities and analytical thinking
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online research tools
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Passion for community development and social impact
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous grant writing experience or demonstrated success in fundraising
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Communications, English, Nonprofit Management)
- Experience with grant databases (Foundation Directory Online, Grants.gov)
- Knowledge of nonprofit sector and philanthropy
- Background in education, healthcare, or international development
